The Dauntless Tactical “BRILLIANT Rifle/Carbine 1” course is designed to markedly increase the skill level of the novice marksman utilizing a semi-automatic AR-15 type rifle or carbine. Considerable emphasis will be placed on familiarization with the AR-15 systems design, and the building of tactile muscle memory as the foundation of tactical & defensive proficiency. The course will consist of approximately 1 hour of classroom instruction on firearm safety, firearm operation, sling use and adjustment, sight adjustment, and the mental and physiological aspects of marksmanship.
Classroom instruction will be followed by 7 hours of progressively challenging skill building exercises and drills that involve a variety of shooting positions, distances, and situational nuance. These drills will primarily originate from standing position and are designed to improve both speed and accuracy.
Upon completion of this course the student will have a thorough understanding of firearm safety, firearm operation, and the ability to engage multiple targets at distances up to 200 yards from the prone, seated, kneeling, squatting, and standing positions. Ultimately, the student will be able to operate the controls of the AR-15 confidently by touch alone.
Course Objective: The student will gain a high level of confidence in the safe handling and operation of an AR-15 type rifle or carbine and show substantial improvement in accuracy and speed of target engagement.
Ammo requirements: 400 rounds of rifle or pistol caliber carbine ammunition per person.
Prerequisite: A basic understanding of firearms safety and operation. A Current Handgun Permit/Concealed Carry (CCW) Permit, or a letter from your local Sheriff's Dept or Police Agency, stating that you have a clear background, and/or that you are not a person prohibited from possessing or owning a firearm, is required to attend this class.
Training schedule: Show time is 7:30 am with instruction starting at 8:00 am and ending at 5 pm. A one hour period is allotted for lunch.
