Effective Threat Mitigation™ is a different skillset than executive or dignitary protection, as the purpose of Threat Mitigation is to protect the SPACE AND the MULTITUDE OF PEOPLE WITHIN IT, not just one or two Priniciple/High Value assets. It requires that the threat mitigator be able to DOMINATE the accosted space, and take it back, if need be. This mission imperative requires a very specific set of high level firearms, tactical, and combat related skills.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE, YOU ASK? In dignitary protection, you MOVE, or fight to move, the target or protected asset, i.e. the Primary, to safety. In a church, that would be the role of the Armour Bearers. Their attention is always on the whereabouts and security of the "Primary," i.e. the Pastor.
But, in threat mitigation, you intensively AGGRESS the threat actor, i.e. the attacker, violently to CREATE SAFETY, because EVERYONE is the potential target. There is NO OTHER FOCUS than that, except that this task must be carried out while also ensuring the safety of everyone else in the threat environment. You must neutralize or kill the attacker(s) without harming anyone else. That IS THE STANDARD. We call that, the ability to make The Cross-Sanctuary Shot,™ and The Cross-Campus Shot.™
Due to the serious and dynamic nature of protecting innocent lives in crowded spaces, long halls, or expansive sanctuaries, we can take no chances on issuing a Tier-1 Civilian Threat Mitigator™ Certification to anyone who hasn't completed the entire course of training that we provide Non-Traditional Threat Mitigators like church ushers, musicians, elders, media teams, greeters, and other ministry volunteers, etc.
THEREFORE, WE CAN TAKE NO PRIOR SKILLS OR TRAINING FOR GRANTED, NOT EVEN MILITARY, POLICE OR LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING, UNLESS WE CAN CLASSIFY IT AS HAVING BEEN AT THE TIER ONE LEVEL. Even then, the student must be evaluated, and drilled with rigor.
We WILL build every church or school threat mitigator from the ground up. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Why such a rigorous and hard-nosed stance? Because the stakes are too high, and the crowd density potentially too great to presume proficiency.
WE ARE GOING TO BUILD PROFICIENCY, MEASURE IT, EXPAND IT, ENHANCE IT, STRETCH IT, TEST IT, and PERFECT IT. Only then will we CERTIFY someone as a Certified Tier-1 Civilian Threat Mitigator.™

TRAINING OVERVIEW: PREPARING TO STOP THE THREAT IMMEDIATELY
6 week Certified Church Threat Mitigator: Tier-1 Protector Comprehensive Training Core Module*
This 160 hr/20-day course is a MODULAR COMPREHENSIVE, and is for the clandestine NON-Traditional Church "Threat Mitigator:" Greeters, Ushers; Musicians; Elders; Staff; A/V teams, Camera Operators; etc.
The SIX Session 2-day & 3- day training modules will provide students with Tier-1-Level Tactical Training in firearms deployment within a densely populated space such as a large church sanctuary. Mitigators will learn to shoot precisely using tactical movement & communication to neutralize the well-armed active shooter, using a variety of firearms platforms.
*Defending worshipers and guests in churches requires the HIGHEST STANDARD OF CARE. Thus, we have developed this extremely rigorous and comprehensive core training module for church protection teams to undergo. Though we offer some less rigorous training choices, we strongly advise church leadership that only trainees who successfully complete and perform to our Tier-1 SF Tactical Firearms Training Standard will receive the Certified Church Threat Mitigator/Active Threat Mitigation Certificate as defenders of congregants, church sanctuaries, and church campuses. We will certify nothing less that the comprehensive.
Comprehensive Training Modules
Tier-1 Instruction & Training Modules
The Non-Traditional Threat Mitigator will learn and develop Brilliant marksmanship skills, such as to be able to make precision shots with the semi-automatic pistol/handgun from great distances, and under acute stress. This training shall be the basis of perfomering the Cross-Sanctuary Shot™ on demand, with either hand and under difficult circumstances. It will help establish the mitigator as the owner of the sanctuary and the aisles.
Tier-1 Tactical Movement & Drilling Module
A Threat Mitigator must be able to make the Cross-Sanctuary Shot™ while he/she is on the move and simultaneously engaging a moving active shooter through a crowd of innocent potential victims, without harming any of the people between the mitigator and the threat actor, or anyone behind the attacker. Instruction within these modules will ensure the conveyance, transference and assimilation of these and other tactical skills.
Advanced & Special Weaponry Training Modules
The threat Mitigator will continue to learn and establish Brilliant skills with the handgun, as well as gain Tier-1 weapons manilpulation skills with the handgun, along with marksmanship, manipulation, and movement skills with both the handgun and with the tactical defensive pistol or rifle caliber carbine. Mitigators will learn to aggressively engage attackers from elevation, dynamic shooting positions, and from behind barriers and positions of cover.
Defensive & Disarmament Modules
The Threat Mitigator will develop weapons retention skills, disarmament skills, and acquire the ability to turn an attacker's weapon back against himself, as well as learn to pick up an attacker's weapon, problem solve it, and potentially use it to engage other potential attackers with equal or greater firepower that they have brought to bear in the initial attack
Crowd Management & Congregational Prep Modules
The Threat Mitigator will learn techniques that will empower him/her to safely move against and through the crowd in a stampeding environment in order to engage a threat actor with lethal force, without losing his/her firearm, flagging or muzzling fleeing innocents, or having a negligent discharge of their weapon in the process. Detailed instruction on practically prepping the congregation for a Active Shooter Event will also be conveyed.
Evaluation & Recertificaton Modules
Given the perishable nature of unused shooting and marksmanship skills over time, Threat Mitigators will be required to maintain certification and demonstrate retention of dynamic shooting capabilities to the Tier-1 Standard.
