DYNAMIC Handgun 2 focuses on establishing the foundations for the IMPROVISED application of Brilliant marksmanship skills, expanding upon the core of our Dynamic Protector,™ Tier 1 Citizen,™ and Active Threat Mitigation™ training curricula.  

This course will begin to help the student to manifest the Dauntless Mindset in their approach to defensive shooting and treat mitigation. This Dauntless philosophy of Boldness, Bravery, Confidence, Skillfulness, & FEARLESSNESS in the Face of Grave Danger or Treacherous Obstacles,™ is at the core of everything we do and how we train. Specifically, the gun is just a tool, your mind is the weapon; and the Exceptionally Skilled Deployment of that tool can be your salvation. 

Course Details:

DYNAMIC Handgun 2, is a FULL-DAY practical skills building Live Fire Course for the semi-advanced defensive shooter in the home, urban, and mass casualty-prone environments that focuses on further increasing the student’s speed and accuracy under stressful gun-fighting conditions. This 8-hour course applies the foundational techniques of Brilliant Handgun 1 in real world conditions that consist of dynamic movement, multiple target engagement, target transitions, and reaction to the Reflexive Fire Stimulus. Set at a Crawl, Walk, Run pace, the course is conducted entirely out of the classroom and on the range.

Course participants will engage static and moving threats from distances out to 25 yards with both hands while shooting on the move, and from challenging shooting positions, through, around, and from behind barriers, and from the urban prone and supine positions. 

Course Objective: The student will gain tactical Flexibility, as well as acquire a high level of shooting and threat mitigation Capability stemming from an increased competence and confidence derived from the development of improvised target engagement, weapons manipulation, and operational movement skill-sets using the dynamic pistol within the target rich, active threat environment.

• Drill Sight Alignment & Sight picture
• Transitional Movement In and From Various Ready Positions

• Establish Ability to "Call" Shots
• Smooth & Accurate Transitions
• Balance of Speed & Accuracy: Shoot Smoothly, Quickly, Evenly, & Accurately
• Enhance Efficiency in Weapons Manipulation Under Pressure

Prerequisite: Brilliant Handgun 1, or equivalent, and/or a demonstrated Advanced Understanding of handgun safety and operation.

As the focus is on imparting brilliant tactical handgun skills, Dynamic Handgun 2 covers a greater scope of information and is therefore taught at a faster pace than our Brilliant Handgun 1 course, so if you're new-ish to firearms training, then this is not your class. 

After a brief refresher consisting of approximately 30 minutes of Instruction on firearm safety, firearm operation, range safety, and the cognitive aspects of marksmanship, the class will transition to the live range where the range portion of the course will begin with an initial skills evaluation, then continuing for 7.5 hours of Brilliance in the Basics® instruction, consisting of progressively challenging training drills that involve a variety of shooting positions, distances, and situational nuance. 

DYNAMIC Handgun 2 incorporates and builds upon all prior training and drilling sessions, and therefore, also covers Safety Brief, Fundamentals Recap, and Drilling of Weapons Handling, Reloading, Drawing, Stance, Grip, Weapons presentation, Trigger Prep & Trigger Control, Sight Alignment, and Balance of Speed & Accuracy, with detailed Instruction, Observation, Affirmative Skills Correction, Coaching, & Evaluation from Instructors.

We will end the day's training with a final evaluation so that you will see your improvements. 

This course is NOT for individuals who have never shot or handled a pistol. Shooters brand new to firearms should enroll in our Intro to Pistol Seminar Course, or  Brilliant Handgun 1.

Training schedule:

Show time is 7:30 am with instruction beginning at 8:00 am and ending at 5:00 pm; 

Required Gear & Ammo (See course option above):

• Semi-auto pistol with 3 magazines or revolver with 4 speed loaders
• 500 rounds of pistol ammunition per student
• Holsters, magazine/speed loader pouches
• Gun belt or a strong belt that will support the holster
• Khakis, jeans or tactical pants with belt loops; NO YOGA PANTS
• Eye and ear protection (clear and shaded lens are recommended)
• Baseball Cap

Additional Required Items (student supplied):

• Rain or inclement weather gear
• Water/Snacks
• Hat/Gloves
• Sun screen (non-greasy or water resistant recommended)

Course includes: 8 hours of instruction and a certificate of completion. 

* We recommend you wear comfortable shoes, long pants, and a long sleeve shirt that you don’t mind getting dirty.
